London: 10:43 Eurostar to Brussels (14:02), for 14:22 Thalys train to Cologne (16:50). From here the 18:35 express train arrives in Munich (23:04), the night train leaves at 23:45, arrives Postojna 07:17. ~19.5 hrs.

Ljubljana: 23:42 night train to Munich (06:17), then the 07:24 express to Cologne (12:05). From here the Thalys train to Brussels (14:38) for the 16:05 Eurostar, arrive 16:56. ~18 hrs.

OR

Trieste: 17:47 train to Venice (19:38), for 20:19 night train to Dijon Ville (05:39) and 06:30 TGV Lille Europe (09:15) for 10:12 Eurostar, arrive 10:58. ~18 hrs.

The first hotel is near Postojna (between Ljubljana and Trieste) and the last in Trieste or Ljubljana. Best airports are Ljubljana or Trieste Ronchi.

LJUBLJANA AIRPORT:

Land by: 17:00 (no time limit if using taxi)

Outward: Bus then train or bus to Postojna 3 hrs (c. €20 pp) or local taxi then train or bus to Postojna 2 hrs (c. €35 pp)

OPTION: Pre-booked taxi transfer from Postojna to first hotel 20 mins (€8 pay locally)

OPTION: Pre-booked taxi transfer from Ljubljana airport to first hotel 1 hr (£75 for 1-3 people, £110 for 4-7)

TRIESTE AIRPORT:

Land by: 15:00 (no time limit if using taxi)

Outward: Bus then train 3 hrs (c. €30)
