said about this walk

“The walk from Grazelema to Montejaque took a lot longer than the notes said because we stopped frequently to look at the flowers and birds.”

“This was our first such holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.”

“The Griffin Vultures were truly magnificent. We sat and watched at least 30 of them circling (quite low) overhead.”

Andalucia (Spain)
White villages of the Ronda Mountains
Full Description

Walking holidays, tours and vacations in Andalucia (Andalusia), Southern Spain

Through the Sierra de Grazalema to Ronda
A lovely walk in the still unspoilt mountains to the west of Ronda, culminating in two nights in the Moorish cliff-top bastion. Your stays in the fabled white villages, perched on the slopes for defence, are interspersed with glorious hillside walking through the dramatic limestone scenery of the Grazalema National Park. Ibex, eagles and griffon vultures are there for the spotting. Your walk will take you over wild mountainsides and along lush river valleys to Ronda, scene of some of the last battles of the Reconquista.

Walked by On Foot staff:   Simon and Mary

Standard option (as per "Itinerary"): 7 nights - choose between two inights in Montejaque/1 in Ronda (best for serial walkers) and 1 in Montejaque/2 in Ronda (to have a proper look at Ronda).  Extra nights available in all hotels.   Suggested shorter alternatives6 nights (miss night 7, the last night in Ronda, and one day’s walking); 5 nights (miss nights 4 and 7 and 2 days’ walking)
