  The hilly terrain of Catalonia and its proximity to the Pyrenees makes for a longer walking season than you would expect so close to the sweltering costas.  While spring and autumn have their natural attractions, the summer months are also 'possible', though hotel availability is less certain and early booking therefore advisable.  A heatwave can also make these months over-hot to walk.
