"We really enjoyed the holiday. Having visited Turkey and Istanbul about 25 yrs ago I was amazed at the changes - all the hotels and restaurants spotlessly clean, all the people so friendly, the food fresh and delicious, and of course the stunning walk and scenery. Oct '11

"We had an amazing holiday in Turkey and it is well up on our list of most memorable. There was such a variety of experiences and we met so many interesting people. . As far as places on the way, Adrasan comes out tops. Where will we go next year? Certainly we would consider "On Foot" again." June '11

"We just returned from walking on the Lycian Way. We absolutely loved the walk, although it was quite hard at times, and quite hot. The route was spectacular, we thoroughly enjoyed the isolation mixed with the really friendly welcome at each of the pansions.  We were surprised by the lovely home-cooked fresh food, and really pleasant wine (although it was a little expensive). We felt a great sense of achievement at the end of  every day, and especially at the end of the walk, which was quite challenging for the last day in hot weather." May '11

"Both Berry and Kumar are diamonds.  They are worth putting on show! Very flexible, very knowledgeable and for me, being on my own, worth keeping in contact with from a safety point of view." May '11

"I am just emailing to let you know what a fantastic time Francesca and I had walking the Lycian Way - it was a real adventure for us - April was a great time to do it - temperature just right and the wildlife, especially the flowers were absloutley beautiful .  We loved the walking - even though we did take the shortcuts on days 2 and 4 and skipped the last day for more time in Antalya.  We thought the directions were very good and the places, pensions and the poeple who ran them were all very nice as were Berry and all at Mithra traval.  Kumar said to pass on his good wishes.   I would certainly use on foot holidays again. Thanks very much indeed to you all from Francesca and I. April '11

"And what a good time we had! It's difficult to pick a highlight out of so many: waking up to blue sky and snow-capped mountains on the first day; seeing the sea far in the distance for the first time; the wildflowers along the paths; reaching the sea and finding it just as turquoise as promised;  the smell of the pines; wandering into the ruins of Phaselis; the sound of the frogs at Olympos; climbing down to the eternal flames of the Chimaera; trees laden with lemons; the last day’s walk through wild hills; and last, but not least, the old town in Antalya. Everything worked perfectly, and the hotels were exactly as described in your booklet." April '11

"Almost everything about the holiday was wonderful, even the weather. It was well conceived, the hotels on the whole were well judged, and the balance of half board and meals elsewhere worked well. The notes (and the waymarking) made it easy to follow the path, which was accurately described. The wildflowers in April were just spectacular, as were the views." April '11

"It was a real pleasure dealing with Mary and others in the office, who I felt showed genuine interest in helping us choose and book our holiday.  Little things like emailing a sample of the walk instructions were much appreciated." Sep '10

"Really enjoyed the whole trip - something different everyday. Scenery superb and the walking tested our fitness. Reaching the lighthouse was an achievement but we didn't realise we still had a further 1 hour to walk to meet our friendly driver. Hardest hour of the trip. Should have read the notes!!" June '10

"My Lycian Way walking holiday was delightful. Satisfyingly strenuous in parts, scenically beautiful, a nice variety of overnight venues with good healthy food." May '10

"We liked just about everything walking through new country at our own speed with confidence in the route finding, superb views and fascinating ruins a real varied mixture - the lost city was fun to explore.  Sea swimming was great too.  All the hotels were intesting and different we would stay at any of them again - Sundance was most memorable.   At the end there is a better place to swim follow Lycian way to the west side of the harbour round a promontory to a wide shallow bay- lovely clear warm water and not deep" May '10

"An all round good adventure for me and the wife. Every day was different. Not a flat moment."  May '10

"Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday as before and our service from On Foot has been excellent. We enjoyed the glorious scenery and the friendliness of the people we met." Aug '09

"We had a wonderful holiday. The scenery was spectacular and the flowers beautiful. The people were very friendly and helpful. We loved swimming in little secluded coves and exploring the ruins." May '09

"Just a quick (belated) email to let you know what a successful trip we had in Turkey. We were so very impressed with the whole package and look forward to doing another On Foot trip in the future. From the time we arrived we felt welcome and were very well looked after by all the accommodation hosts and and your local agents. The maps and walk notes were accurate and easy to follow, the choice of accommodation varied and interesting with an excellent choice of meals along the way." May 09

"We are pleased to tell you that we had a wonderful holiday. The walking was excellent, the notes spot on. We met some walkers from ***** ********* who were very admiring of the much superior maps which we had compared with what they were provided with. We have great admiration for the team which keeps up the waymarking which was pretty comprehensive. We were greeted everywhere in a most friendly way and found the accommodation and food very good. A particular highlight was Emin Pension at Cirali where we enjoyed the excellent home cooking. The scenery, archaeology and natural history were a source of delight. We recorded the following to add to your Wildlife list in the Blue Book :Bonelli's Eagle, Buzzard, Hooded Crow(hybrid), Jay, Little Egret, Magpie, Night Heron, Owl (heard but not seen), Brown grasshoppers, Frogs, Hedgehog, Lizard, River crab, Terapin. The wild flowers were almost too numerous to mention but we list the following in random order: Mediterranean and Greek Spiny Euphorbias, Cistus, Phlomis, Bay tree, Oleander,  Alpine larkspur, Hollyhock, Sage ,Thyme, Field Gladiolus,Mullein, Cyclamen (not flowering), Cotinus, Star clover, Soloman's Seal.  We would certainly like to walk again in Turkey and wonder if you have plans for other walks there perhaps on other parts of the Lycian Way. Thank you again for such a memorable holiday." May '09

"Maps were much envied by other walkers."

"Interesting and varied hotels/pensions made arriving at each destination surprising and pleasing."

"One of the most challenging and exhilarating holidays we have been on; walking in the UK just isn't the same since Turkey!  It would be wonderful if you could open up a further section of the Lycian Way for us all!"

"The walk from Ulupinar to the flames at Chimaera, after a superb meal at the Havubazi restaurant, is very strongly recommended. Thoroughly enjoyed exploring old and new Antalya at the end of our stay and the Turk Evi hotel was a delight. All in all a very good experience."

"We saw our first wild tortoise!  We saw the amazing Chimaera - continuous flames fuelled by unknown gases emitting directly from the bare rock. The open pasture just past the pass was beautiful, with great views from a threshing floor behind the shepherd's hut down to Adrasan and more greenhouses. The walk down to Adrasan was delightful - just stunning scenery. A great wild walk with no one else to be seen or heard - except a huge tortoise 100m above the lighthouse. Great scenery, flowers, people and food. We had a fantastic holiday."

"Excellent and impressive organization throughout. No hitches or problems with On Foot planning.  Thanks for a wonderful holiday!"

"A truly amazing trip. Everywhere we stayed was different but always very welcoming. Only saw 4 other walkers in 7 days!"

"One of the best walking holidays we have ever had."
