Full days: 6-19km per day, 3¼-6¾ hrs walking
Using shortening options:6-13km per day, 2-5¾ hrs

 

A back to front walk, with some of the longer walking on days 2-4, though there are a variety of flexible options to allow for easier/low level/bad weather walking.  Suitable for mixed ability groups who don't mind splitting up each day.

Terrain

Difficulty: hard or medium.  This is alpine country so the views only come when you have earned them. Some stiff ascents and steep downhills. Well-marked paths and good signage. Highest point on route: 2,354m.

 

Hard: Average cumulative uphill stretches (CUSs) 972m (230m-1330m) per day.
Medium: CUSs 478m (230m - 840m) using shortening options
