"We thought the walking was terrific and probably the best and most varied scenery of our 6 (soon to be 7) 'On Foot' walks. Still don't know how they can eat so much food.

The most surprising moment was after our beer at the cafe in Lindoso when an unknown man approached us and said, ' Now you will come to my house'. It turned out to be Armindo (what a nice man)."  May '11

"Liked the most: getting to a less travelled place and enjoying the walks, flora/fauna, landscape, people, food & wine. All the people we met were uniformly kind and welcoming." April '11

"I had a great time and look forward to walking with your company again in future. The fact that the walk finishes at the Pousada really makes this walk something special: the contrast between the very rural villages along the walk and the luxury of the pousada makes you really appreciate the latter.  Great planning!" Sep '10

"Phillida and Jeremy, Andrew and I had a delightful walk following Paul's excellent instructions through the P-G National Park. It was a very good holiday indeed and Paul you are much to be congratulated on working out such a varied and beautiful route and finding such charming accommodation. We loved all our accommodation which we thought had been very well chosen, and the last night at the Pousada was a real treat." Sep '10

"Anyway, a really super trek. We want another please for next year, given our enjoyment in Portugal and Turkey with On Foot. Paul was really good. He contacted us to check if all was OK on arrival, after the long day walk due to the bad weather, and at the end. We were very impressed."  Sep '10

"No irritating menu options on the phones - straight though to a real person. Very good knowledge of the routes, accommodation, logistics. We have dealt with a lot of companies - On Foot is an absolute pleasure to deal with." Sep '10

"We were inspired by the website and the Email correspondence that we had with One Foot and the obvious passion that you have for the Penedes Geres. We loved the opportunity for this adventure, the scenery and the helpful B&B hosts." Sep '10

"The directions were excellent. Nice that it was quiet and remote.  The locals were very friendly and it was a bit like going back in time." Sep '10

"We enjoyed the freedom to set our own pace and be sure of a welcome at the end of each day. We loved  the landscape and the people and would very likely go back." May '10

"We liked - the attention to detail and the wide range of accommodation. The luggage delivery arrangements were brilliant and enabled us to make route choices - like bypassing the really long day by driving with Armindo from Lindoso to Brufe with a running commentary on the route we should have been walking!! French is really useful as surprisingly, some is spoken in rural areas. We loved the whole holiday." May '10

"We loved the variety of each day's walking and caught a taxi, the baggage van and a bus on the days when we did not want to tackle the whole route. And we managed the scramble on Day 7.
We felt thoroughly lucky that wherever we were we were fed and given a comfy bed and, with some really exceptional hosts and meals thrown into the mix, really, it is hard to be critical.  The tour was so different from our tour to Hungary last year that every place and day was good." May '10

"Dear Simon, what a wonderful holiday! I could not have asked for more: ever-changing landscape with a range of terrain and vegetaion, comfy places to stay and warm welcomes and delicious food everywhere. Bridget." May '10

"A very well planned route in perfect walking country with exceptional, interesting accommodation". Aug '09

"Typical On Foot - beautiful walking route punctuated by fascinating places to stay, fuelled by good food and lubricated by good wine!" May '09

"We're just back from a lovely week walking in Portugal.  Everything went really well, the accommodation was really comfortable, the food was enormous(!), and the walking was very good.  We saw lots of great opportunities to do more walking in that area (which we'd never really known about)." April '09

"It was a great opportunity to visit an area that I very much doubt we would have gone to otherwise. It was very rural and remote, but the hotels and restaurants were well appointed. The few people we met - whether in villages or the countryside - were welcoming and helpful." April 09

"I love the way the hiking allows us to meet 'real' Portuguese people. The hike is well thought out to give an interesting view of an area most people would not get to." Sept '09

"The countryside is charming with beautiful views". Sept '09

"Very rural and remote, but the hotels and restaurants were well appointed". April '09

"We loved the remoteness of the mountains and enjoyed the most fabulous views."

"Complete peace and tranquillity!"

"What lovely, warm people - nothing was too much bother."

"I will never forget the taste of freshly-picked oranges for breakfast."
