Exmoor offers all-year round walking, although the winter and early spring months can be bracing, and the moor should only be tackled with care and a fine weather forecast. September can be very beautiful both along the coast and further inland as the heather and the trees take on their autumnal hues. There's plenty going on in the area too, from arts festivals (including the Two Moors Festival in October), events at Dunster Castle, to the Exmoor Food Festival (October).
