Full days: 15-24km per day, 4½-7 hrs walking
Using shortening options: 10-17km per day, 2¼-5 hrs (using taxis)


Shortening options on Days 2, 3 and 4, otherwise you will have to taxi the whole way (supplements), and there are limited things to do when you get there, so this is not a route for the faint-hearted.


Difficulty: medium-hard or medium.


Walking on paths and tracks, several steep sections after Day 3.  Paths are well marked. Highest point on route: 1,650m.


Medium-hard: Average cumulative uphill stretches (CUSs) 634m (425m - 1210m) per day.
Medium: CUSs 422m (250m - 900m) using shortening options on Days 3-6

Eugenio, a retired geologist and mathematician, remains a consultant geohydrologist when not discovering and walking old Salt Routes, while Guiseppe, a qualified surveyor and director of the local Land Registry, is never happier than when walking the hills with his dog, Butch.
