On Foot’s walk around the Land’s End peninsula was created by the staff team in 2020, and Viv Westfoot has since taken up the mantle of Local Contact to take care of our walkers while they are in Cornwall.

‘Simple, Honest, Wholesome’ is Viv’s mantra, and something she strives to bring to all areas of her own life and work. A true believer in celebrating all things wonderfully Cornish, she has no doubt that Cornwall really is the perfect place for her family to live and for you to visit.

Viv is passionate about keeping things authentic and real, and this can be seen in the warm and relaxing haven that The Field House has become over 25 years for friends, family, guests and diners alike. Her hearty, home cooked dishes celebrate local food, fishing and farming.

She has lived in Cornwall for over 40 years and still loves the place as much as ever all these years down the line. Welcoming coastal path walkers through the door of The Field House, Pendeen (where you will stay), is still very much one of the best bits!

Viv regularly walks stretches of the coastal path and moorland on the Land’s End Circuit in all seasons, so knows the route well and is able to give that little bit of local knowledge you may well need. Like her, you’ll find that Cornwall is a wonderful and special place to explore, reconnect with nature, slow down a bit, and simply breathe in some salty sea air!
