Peaceful trails, gorgeous weather, trails gaining and then descending through autumn color mixed with firs/pines to the end of grassy summer at river's edge. Hiking at the end of season provided us with solitude, easy times with innkeepers and good distances each day.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
So very communicative - quick to respond and to accommodate. Arrangements for lodging and luggage transfer were flawless. Itinerary was thorough and easily understood. The route has been thoroughly visited and re-visited by a local representative not only establishing detailed hiking directions but making valued relationships with innkeepers. The On Foot app for our hike too proved flawless.

Arrival by foot ferry (Salerno-Amalfi) during a perfect Mediterranean sunset is quite a way to commence a trip. Despite never being far from civilisation there are parts of this route that feel unexpectedly remote. The ascent from Positano to the high point of Monte Comune with its extensive views is not to be missed. Apart from the honey-pot 'Path of the Gods' we saw virtually no-ne on the route (first week November). Weather was ideal for walking., shorts every day.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
Everything went like clockwork - hotel bookings / baggage transfer / maps / route descriptions. On Foot Holidays are very good at this sort of thing. We trust them.

Six of us spent a week hiking in Cilento National Park. We also visited the ruins at Paestum which were excellent. We spent two nights in every small town which we really enjoyed. We felt like we were off the beaten path. Both the nature and and the small towns were lovely.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
The holiday was very well planned. I feel that we knew what to expect with each day and each accommodation. We had excellent notes about what we are going to see and do. All of the information and route was online. It was very helpful to know immediately if we were off the path.

This was a multi day walk through the foothills in northern Spain. There was enough of a challenge so that we felt we were getting a good workout, but it was not exhausting. We loved seeing the little villages and rural landscape.

OnFoot Holidays has chosen varied routes to welcoming destinations for the self-guided walk in Italy's Cilento area, south of Salerno. Their app provides reliable GPS guidance as well as all the information about the hotels and destinations you will need. As a solo walker, I know I can rely on their careful planning both ahead of the trip and during the trip. All of my transportation needs were anticipated, with taxis waiting to take me to my hotel when the distance necessitated it, but also with the ability to adjust the timing if I wanted. The accommodations on this route were varied and special, with welcoming hosts and, for three nights, fabulous dinners provided. I am a long-time OnFoot walker, and this route was just a delight.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
From initial request for information to the final arranging of times and charges, OnFoot is open and willing to help. I am always impressed by their attention to the finer details and their going above and beyond the strictly necessary information.

10 day walking trip in the Dordogne region. Walks were well chosen with fascinating medieval villages and interesting countryside. Walks were the right amount of challenge (length and elevation) with good options to shorten if needed. Hotels were nicely varied, with excellent and warm service. Planned suppers at most of the hotels were excellent - could not have been better. Pick up driving service very friendly and efficient.

Amazing family hike. We did the 6 day hike along the Dordogne with our 6 and 9 year olds. The trip was well organised and planned. The booking were adequate and appropriate. The food choices were excellent and an eye opener for those of us from down under. We used the shortenings as they were more suitable for walking with children. We managed about 15km on most days in decent weather.

On Foot holidays organised a 9 day walking tour of the Ribera Sacra region in Spain. The trip worked through the wine region, the river Sil, local wineries, monastariess and a Palacio, finishing in Ourense.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
On Foot were very organised and kept us informed of everything we need to know. They were supported by a local operator who was always contactable and very knowledgeable about the route. Their walking app was also fabulous and leaves everything else we have used, including All Trails, for dead. The app gave us detailed notes, warnings when we were off trail, and information about local landmarks and restaurants. Also very impressed with the post-trip follow up and the attention to detail in that survey (e..g surveying each individual accommodation directly).

Rating for On Foot Holidays:
This was our first trip with On Foot and we found them superb. Prompt and thorough and helpful in every email exchange leading up to the trip and beyond the call in assisting with transportation logistics and schedules. The walking instructions were easy to follow and clear and the background materials were wonderful. The app, too, was very good. All written materials were perfectly organized and comprehensive. The descriptions of the accommodations were spot on. Our local contact called to make sure we'd arrived safely at the start point and then let us know about an early checkin option at one of the hotels. We felt confident she'd help us out immediately if we needed it.

Rating for On Foot Holidays:
On Foot Holidays is the best operator I have experienced yet. It was my third self guided walking tour, and while the two previous operators were fine, On Foot performed to an even higher standard. They obtained excellent acommodations, provided us with an excellent app and were always available and responsive. When we added an extra day to the beginning of the trip at the last moment, they promptly made plans for us with two options of circuit tours and updated our holiday app. Our culinary preferences were accurately conveyed to all hosts and we were updated about ever minor changes of plan as soon as was possible (e.g. a restaurant closure)

This was a bucket list holiday for us and it lived up to our expectations. Such a beautiful area and the hikes were diverse which made it so much better. All had opportunities for incredible vistas and challenged us in different ways. Whether an urban route with LOTS of stairs or out in a forest which was more rugged. Such a great experience.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
We had heard about them through a friend who had used them last year. Very responsive in all our communications and provided good advice about what to expect. Very accommodating as we made a couple adjustments to the accommodations and length of the trip. Provide incredibly detailed info on the trip as a whole and each daily segment, plus a gps app tailored to our specific trip. Several of our friends have already asked who we used.

We had a nine-day walking holiday organised by On Foot with five different hotels and On Foot organising our luggage transfers while we walked between villages. All hotels were amazing.
Rating for On Foot Holidays:
From start to finish On Foot Holidays could not have been more helpful. From the very first conversation we knew we wanted to book with them because they were so knowledgable and really cared about what we wanted to get from the holiday. On Foot was so responsive and all communication rapid and clear. We had to postpone our holiday for personal reasons and On Foot arranged that with no additional cost. Cannot praise them highly enough.

Three of us did the self-guided six-day walk along the coast and between hilltop towns (staying in Palazzo Doganna in Agropoli, Il Gentilcore in Castellabate, Il Antico Convento in Roca di Cilento, Il Mulino agriturismo outside of Galdo, and Mareluna in San Marco). The walks were so stunningly beautiful, it was almost hard to believe it was real. The food was delicious (except for the hotel restaurant in Castellabate -- find a restaurant in town). The hotel staff were always nice and helpful. We also added a day at the beginning to visit Paestum, which I highly recommend.
